Shuttle Launch

In keeping with the theme of my last post, here is an extraordinarily detailed, slow motion video of the Space Shuttle lifting off with commentary.

Lift Off Animation

This is a quick cartoon I created to test out the iPad app Animation Desk. I thought my grandson would enjoy the subject, so we have this rather than a traditional walk cycle.

Dancing Baby

I came across this file the other day while I was searching for something else, and thought this might be good fodder for a post. It was created long, long ago with Flash 3 as a test file for a client, and an experiment for myself. Each portion of the baby, arms, legs, torso, and head, are individual elements put together and  animated frame by frame. The dance moves are supposed to suggest the ‘Macarena’.

Pencil Tests

Here is a link to a very nice blog if you have any interest in animation or the process that goes into it.

Flash Train Scene

Here is another Flash test file I’ve made to re-create the classic Saturday morning cartoon effect I grew up with: a scrolling background scene with objects moving at various speeds to give the illusion of depth.

AlphaTrainer 3D

Here is a video I’ve edited and narrated for a buddy of mine. He’s a corporate pilot who’s developed a small bit of educational software that is used in conjunction with the fantastic flight simulator, X-Plane. Although this video gives you a good idea of what the software is all about, more detailed information about the plug-in can be found at alphatrainer.com.

Duck Pilot

For this post, I thought I would combine a couple of past posts into a single cartoon. So I grabbed my duck sketch video and plane sketch video, added a few new elements to jazz it up a bit, and put them together.

Sketching a Cartoon Duck

This is my 100th post on this blog and because it’s been a while since I’ve created a sketch video, I thought I would crank one out in celebration. For some reason, maybe because as you can see, I wasn’t using a  brand new pencil, I didn’t seem to be as organized or logical in my drawing during this session. So due to my scattered sketching style, this time there isn’t any narration to help walk you through my process. But I hope you can still follow along well enough to get something usable out of it.

The Vendor Client relationship

Not that any of my clients would do anything like this of course, but it’s funny nonetheless. If you have a creative business, I’m sure there might have been a time or two that you’ve felt like the folks in this video.

Wear Your Seatbelt

This is not your ordinary public service announcement. It’s extremely creative, moving, and best of all, thought provoking.
