Well, it seems to be starting again. The labels. They just don’t seem to want to go away, so here is another one. Not too much subtlety with this one, a few hogs and some cherries faded into the background. But I did sorta suggest a football shaped border if you look closely and use your imagination (pigskin, get it?).

Once again a drink label popped into my creative consciousness and had to be released. This wahooo fish was done for a kid’s soccer team quite some time ago. I thought the name and colors would make for a great design. I tried to incorporate as much nautical stuff as I could, even down to the silhouette of a sailor’s hat shaping the top portion of the label.

My 200th post!

I was cleaning out a closet the other day and came across this, a picture of a poster I drew in college for an aborted competition. While the competition fell through, at least I got credit for the work in my illustration class. This is pen and ink with watercolor. As a side note, I wrote the words Molsen Golden in very tiny letters up and down the cliffs to add a bit of texture.

Taking part in Reddit.com’s attempt to break the world record for the largest Secret Santa gift exchange, I received this cool tome last night as my gift. My gift went out last week and as I haven’t seen confirmation of it’s receipt, I’ll keep that a secret, just in case.

This past weekend, the wife and I found ourselves in Ellijay for the weekend. As we wandered around, we stopped in an antique shop, figuring to find something that might go in a room we plan to spruce up after the kids and grandkids get moved out in a couple of months. We didn’t find anything for the room, but I ran across this, buried in a corner:

…an intact 28 volume set of Time Life books on the Civil War in excellent condition. Originally sold back in the 80′s for a pretty penny, I was able to snag them for $100. I’ve been on a Civil War reading binge for a while now, and there are a number of illustrations and pictures contained in these volumes I haven’t seen. Youtube even has a commercial about the set from 1991.

This is a sketch for a bank ad, believe it or not. The bank that commissioned the cartoon wanted to tout their own lack of ATM and checking fees, while highlighting the the recent changes of their competitors.
